 Carson Walter Coakley, 79, passed away July 21, 2018 in Taylor County Florida. He was born March 31, 1939 in Buchtel, Ohio, to James Walter and Virginia Camp Coakley. After graduating high school, he served his nation for eight years in the United States Army. Carson then became a law enforcement officer, serving the City of Columbus Ohio as a police lieutenant for 25 years and then retired. He then moved to Sebastian Florida, where he served the people of Indian River County for 11 years as a lieutenant in the Sheriff’s Department. He moved to Taylor County in 2006 where he became an officer for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for 10 years. He also worked at the Harrison Blue Roll Off Site. Carson was an avid fisherman. Fishing the waters of the Great Lakes for many years.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, two sons, Carson Coakley Jr. Steve Coakley, and a brother Frank Coakley. He is survived by a loving wife, Margot “Maggie” Coakley and four children, Gabi Magdsick, Laura Ann Heller, Marion Oliver, and Robert Ronald Domingue. One brother, Raymond Myers and two sisters, Nancy Valois and Sue Veith. Seven grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00am, July 26th, 2018 at Beggs Funeral Home in Perry Florida. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to your favorite charity.
